My Story

When Max was born in 2008 he suffered a birth injury. He had a snapped clavicle (collar bone) and suffered nerve damage in his neck and left shoulder.

This was not noticed until I saw that he was not using his left arm at all. This was a really worrying time for us.

After diagnosis we received a huge amount of information, support and encouragement from the Erb's Palsy Group.

Due to the help received we were able to access intensive Physio and I believe due to this he has made a near full recovery.

We have been advised he needs to remain active, to ensure full mobility is maintained, which is not proving too difficult!

I am happy to say, he is able to live a full and active lifestyle and keep up with his brother, including playing rugby for Totnes RFC.

I believe this was helped by the support and guidance from the Erb's Palsy Group and I would like to give something back to the group to help other families in a similar situation.
